The Metamorphosis and Other Stories is inspired by Franz Kafka’s short novel The Metamorphosis. In this piece, I create visual juxtapositions of text and images to create a reconstructed reading experience and a materialized space for the world described in the novel. The intention is for viewers to “read” in a new way in the art gallery.

Every single word in the entire novel was removed from the book and placed on hand-made briquettes that bear the sensitive and changeable mood of the novel. In this way, the way we enter the story has changed, and the audience is invited to read physically.
